antic is a vehicle for hand drawn art that does not stay in the lines visually, emotionally or conceptually

All shirts are printed by the artists and all designs are original drawings copyrighted and protected by the aura that is the hooded figure and some legal jive. 		 


The company was stared out of a need to talk about something out of the ordinary. Artist Isaac Bauman decided to display visually his hatred for bananas and antic was created via the tee shirt.

2. a ludicrous gesture or act.

This leads us to the last philosophy of antic - to have fun and not take everything so seriously all the time. smile!  

The brand is primarily exclusive to portland and our own locations in the city. We do sell at one other shop in seattle (MONSTER) and portland (METRO). Some wholesale has been done in the past, but product has inevitably been sold out of these locations by now. We haven't run this business in the traditional manner and we don't know exactly where it is going from here.

The mission is to remain in business for an extended period of time creating art and spreading knowledge.

 the hand -the fortunate ones of us humans have two of these each. They are a fun challenge to draw and always in front of me.


the hooded figure -the hooded sweatshirt is personally my favorite garment. Living in PDX it is pretty much a year round affair. The hooded figure emerged in 2005 as the need to draw my daily emotions evolved. Since I lacked a model to draw these emotions from I needed to create a visual representation that was disturbingly playful and deep. Leaving the face blank added anonymity and mystery, two things i adore.

Scribbling -A self taught technique derived from the need to keep my pen moving and my mind focused. My mind is filled with gerbils running on wheels round and round. It rarely ever stops, scribbling helps.
